Scenic Wallpaper was asked to install a custom de Gournay Plum Blossom wallpaper in a powder room at a home in East Hampton, NY. This installation was challenging in that it was a small and irregular space, which included a curved wall and a partially slanted ceiling.

Some small mismatches along the ceiling needed to be corrected after installation, and a vent in the ceiling was painted to match the pattern.

de Gournay’s Plum Blossom pattern took inspiration from a painted silk Kimono from the late Edo period by the artist Sakai Hoitsu.
