Completed installation and restoration of Jardin Anglais
Scenic Wallpaper was contacted to complete an installation of Dufour’s panoramic wallpaper Jardin Anglais for a dining room in the West Village in Manhattan. Jardin Anglais (The English Gardens), also known as Jardin de Bagatelle, was manufactured by Joseph Dufour in Paris before 1804 and attributed to the designer Pierre-Antoine Mongin. The pagoda-bridge is identified as being from the Château du Comte d'Artois in Bagatelle in Paris.
Preparation for Installation
The papers were partially installed when the team began, and some panels had to be expertly removed, re-prepared and re-installed properly in order for the scene to fill the space. Each scene was also surrounded by a decorative patterned border, which was replaced during the re-installation as well.

Areas of the paper were not large enough to fill the space, so some original blue sky was added and artwork extended to match the paper and continue the scene.
